Creamery Can – Why we love serving you

The Creamery Can opened earlier this year outside Ballymena and we love serving our customers with the best local produce in our beautiful restaurant.

Hugh and I love food, love community and love a good cup of coffee!

When we set out on this adventure we wanted to create a coffee shop where people in our rural location could meet and where food would be served to the highest possible standards, all freshly made on site. I adore home baking and the wholesome country traditions that commercialism sadly has squeezed out in favour of profit margins. We are so inspired by the buzz of conversation and laughter in The Creamery Can, where friends of all ages and backgrounds enjoy spending some quality time together.

We love getting to know our customers and we listen carefully to their special requests and feedback. Hugh has farmed all his life and my background is music teaching and accompanying so this has been quite a diversification but our love of quality food and coffee has always been prevalent in our lives. Now we get to share it more publicly.

We hope that you are enjoying the food and drinks provided in the Creamery Can as much as we enjoy making them. Call in with us now to enjoy our handmade local Ballymena produce at the Creamery Can.

Caramel Squares at the Creamery Can

Here at the Creamery Can in Ballymena we gets lots of questions about our caramel square and what makes them so tempting.

Our caramel squares have become very well known as our signature bake and many of our customers tell us they are the best around. Which is brilliant! Want to know what makes them so good?vv

Well, We pride ourselves in producing a thick buttery shortcake base, equally thick golden caramel made with even more butter and then topping the whole thing with the best quality Belgian chocolate.  We cut them generous sized and chunky displayed in all their glory on an oak board – they’re hard to resist! No expense or calories spared but we believe they’re worth it!

Did you think we were going to give away our secret recipe? – I’m afraid not! You will just have to call in with us at the Creamery Can Ballymena and enjoy them with a gorgeous coffee or a pot of tea.

Creamery Can – Glarryford

Here at the Creamery Can in Glarryford, Ballymena we have been baking, making tea, coffee and serving food and ice cream overtime to keep up with all our great customers who have come in and supported us. We have loved our first few months in the Creamery Can and want to thank all the customer who have visited us so far.

If you haven’t been out yet then this is a flavour of what’s been on offer!

Our Black Forest terrine with fresh cream and black cherries was enjoyed by lots of customers. Also look out for our Great British Bake Off inspired treats. We love the BBC1 show so much that we recreated their first ‘signature bake’ – the cherry cake ring! It was a winner. And finally after all of our over indulging on cakes and ice cream we decided to opt for a very healthy and tasty energy boost! Homemade granola with pecans, cranberries and maple syrup, topped off with natural yogurt is the perfect start to any day whether you are working or enjoying a day off!

See the main Creamery Can menu here and pick out what you would like to try, but keep an eye out for our specials too! We are open 9am to 5pm on Monday to Saturday and we would love to see you call over. Find us at the Creamery Can, Dundermot House, 30 Station Road, Glarryford outside Ballymena.

We are a family business – run by a family to create a wider family of customers who, like us, believe in quality ingredients and home made goodness. The dream has always been to re-create what happens any day round the Reid family kitchen table with friends and family. Where the aroma of freshly baked scones or savoury dishes is common place. A sense of hearth and home. A place where folk can gather and share good food and good conversation.
